St. Joseph's Institute of Management (formerly known as SJCBA) was established in 1968, and is situated in the heart of metropolitan city Bangalore. The campus through its greenery silences the hustle and bustle of the city. In 1996 SJIM secured approval from AICTE, New Delhi, for a Two Year Full Time PGDM programme. In 2007, SJIM received AICTE approval to enhance the intake from 60 to 120 students. In 2007 SJIM secured approval from the AICTE for offering the Executive PGDM and PGCM programs.
Library: The library of St. Joseph’s College of Business Administration is 37 years old. In 1968 SJCBA started its One Year Evening Management Courses, since then the library has been continuously acquiring Management Literature in the form of Books, Periodicals, Annual Reports, News Papers (Print Material) apart from this Library also has good collection of CD-ROMs, Audio and Visual Material (Non-print Material). The Library has now transformed itself from traditional to Digital Library, Library also subscribes to National & International Periodicals (Harvard Business Review, Fortune, Forbes, HR Magazine, Journal of Finance and Journal of Marketing etc) and also Online Databases like EBSCO, ProQuest, PROWESS and IAS (Industry Analysis Service).

A centrally located hostel facility is available to students.
The recruitment process starts as early as November and companies are given choice to select slots. The placements continue till March. Both summer Internships and final placements follow the cycle. A placement committee is formed consisting of both faculty and students. The management and rest of the faculty are also actively involved in the placement process.
