Our college was established by the Government of Tamil Nadu in 1969 and presently it is one of the premier institutions of educational excellence in southern Tamil Nadu. The vision of this college is to provide holistic education to rural and underprivileged students of this region and it is noteworthy that extremely qualified, exceedingly experienced and exceptionally committed professors render their services along the lines of the vision of this institution of higher education. The college has good infrastructure with well-resourced central and departmental libraries, well-equipped laboratories, well-organized play courts and well-furnished GYM. It offers 11 UG, 10 PG and 3 research degree (Ph.D.) courses and the total strength of the students is around 2500 in which the majority is first generation learners. The students are taught and trained well in class rooms, smart seminar hall and laboratory; and so they acquire good academic knowledge, understanding and skills. The students are made energetic by physical training given to them by athletics, sports and activities in GYM. They are also made to do service to the society through NSS and YRC. On the whole, the college serves for students and their developments in academic, mental, physical, environmental and social realms.
