Government Ranbir College

Govt. Ranbir College, Sangrur is one of the prominent and big colleges of Punjab. The College has won special laurels in academics, sports and cultural activities. The institution has produced very great personalities such as scholars, thinkers, teachers, doctors, engineers, good administrators, scientists, writers, brave soldiers, international players, political leaders and great artists are the product of this college.Govt. Ranbir College Sangrur was established in 1939 as Inter College with the courtesy of Late Maharaja Ranbir Singh of Jind on the occasion of his golden jubilee. In 1943, the college became Degree College. Maharaja Ranbir Singh was not only an able administrator but also an intellectual person and the lover of education. Therefore, he had special interest towards the development of academic institutions. A college house situated in front of Sh. Kali Devi Temple outside Patiala Gate was exclusively demarcated for the residence of the Principal. The college has been providing education to the students of the region for a very long time and this crusade for higher education still continues.
