This college was established in June 2001 under the aegis of the Union Territory of Pondicherry Colleges of Education Society (often abbreviated as UTPCES – a registered society under the Society’s Registration Act, 1860) receiving the grant–in-aid from the Government of Puduchery under the Education Sector to establish and run the Colleges of Education in the Union Territory of Puducherry.
