KIT-Kalaignarkarunanidhi Institute of Technology, one of the best Engineering College in Coimbatore, is located at a distance of 12 kilometers from Coimbatore Railway Station and 8 kilometers from Coimbatore Civil Aerodrome. Set in a calm and congenial locale, the college stands nestled in a spacious campus set in a vast area of 5 lakhs sq.ft with five storied buildings housing classrooms, laboratories, library, faculty rooms, conference halls, administrative and residential areas.
Library: The classy library of KIT stands as a treasure house of knowledge consisting of 7139 titles and more than 21,039 volumes subscribing to various national and international journals. With its spacious reading halls and modern infrastructure, the library provides the right ambience for reading and research for the learners. The Digital library has fully computerised automated system for transactions of the books and other reading materials. The Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) is available in the college library. E- Resources for IEEE-, Springer, DELNET and British Council are also subscribed by the library. The central library has NPTEL Videos and Web lectures of different streams of engineering for promoting research and developmental activities within its students and faculty members. The college provides internet access through a 16 Mbps, internet broadband link. A 10Mbps internet connection is exclusively allotted for the library.
Canteen:The College has a spacious Food Court. It provides a variety of wholesome, tasty snacks and food at a reasonable price. The Canteen also provides packed snack items, bakery products and soft drinks for refreshment.
A Co-operative Store is available next to the Canteen.
Conference hall is well-equipped with a seating capacity of 300. The hallmark of this structure is its interior design and effective sound system ideal for a seminar and conference.
The college has a world class infrastructure, spacious, state of the art, elegant and fully centralized auditorium with a seating capacity for 2500 delegates.
Hostel Facility
Separate and well- resourced hostels for boys and girls, with carpet area of 1,00,000 sq.ft. are available. Individual, double and triple rooms are offered to suit the needs of students. Air conditioned rooms are available for students pursuing the MBA programme. Unique facilities at the hostel include two common-rooms on each floor suitably furnished with LCD TV, extensive area for several indoor games and a well-equipped gym.
