Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Engineering College, Fatehgarh Sahib, Punjab was established in the year 1993, by Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Education Trust formed under the patronage of Shriomani Gurudwara Prabandhak Commitee, Sri Amritsar, with the approval of the Govt. of Punjab. The college was a dream project of Panth Ratan S. Gurcharan Singh Tohra, who was President of SGPC at that time. A need was felt to have an institute of excellence, in this region which will cater to all strata of the society and provide them equal chance of acquiring higher education without moving from their homes.
The college is approved by the A.I.C.T.E, New Delhi, Ministry of H.R.D, Govt. of India and is affiliated to Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University, Bathinda. The college has earned accreditation from the NBA (AICTE) and International Accreditation Organization (IAO) for various programmes.
