The members of the foundation are eminent personalities in various walks of life such as education, research, industry, business and administration."Unemployment can be curbed only by inculcating literacy, professional education and technical skills to the youth" it is this thought that took shape into Amma Education Society in 1997. And later prompted to start Prakasam Engineering College in 2001.
Labs and Training Center: Labs consist of more than 679 high end PCs running Microsoft Windows 2k/XP as well as Linux with dual boot option on top of Intel Core 2 Duo processors & matching supporting hardware & peripherals. Three servers are available in the server room which is used as SMTP mail server, database server and general purpose use. The entire computer labs are connected by a high-speed switched Ethernet network.
E-Classrooms: Spacious e-classrooms with excellent ambience and equipped with all the modern teaching aids like LCD, NPTEL video courses, multi media projectors, etc. are available to the students.
Digital Library: The library subscribes to national and international subject journals, magazines of current interest along with national and regional dailies to keep the students abreast with the day to day happenings in the world and their fields of study. The duplex library is tastefully furnished and it can seat 200 students at a time in its spacious reading halls.
Hostel Facility
Hostel Facilities Available: The Hostel at PEC provides such an ambience that the students feel they are at home. The rooms are well furnished, airy, with attached bathrooms, proper housekeeping facilities, telephone facilities and are equipped with a number of other amenities as well.
