SSM College of Engineering headed by the Chairman Cavalier’ Dr. M. S. Mathivaanan and having placed in the highly industrialized zone of South India, is recognized as one of the best engineering colleges in South India. Our students have prospects of taking part in a noteworthy range of activities through academic courses taught by renowned professors, research and public service opportunities, and an extraordinary breadth of extracurricular activities.  Hostel Facility
The college has excellent hostel facilities for both men & women, run by the Management having the Principal as the Chief Warden. The boy’s hostel accommodates 600 students and has separate blocks for under graduate and post graduate students. Hostels for men and women have facilities for steam cooking, reverse osmosis water, 24 hours internet, STD booth and a general store. Facility for on-call doctor is available for 24 hours and transportation is also made available on emergency. Both hostels serve vegetarian and non-vegetarian food items and yoga classes are arranged to keep the students mentally and physically fit.

The Training & Placement Cell provides audio visual facilities (In Association with Communication Lab) via PowerPoint Presentations, written test, group discussion and interviews. It plays a very important and key role in function and guiding the students for their successful career placement which is an essential edge between the stages of completion of academic program of the students and their entry into the suitable employment.
Campus Recruitment program conducted by the Institute in a very vital activity for the young engineers aspiring for appropriate placement in top MNC's in and around India. For better placement record we have an MOU with top MNC's In India. From which the companies recognize required students at the initial stage, train for four years and recruit them at the end of the course. High percentage of our eligible students has been offered jobs by reputed firms. The Institute is giving a great deal of emphasis for strengthening the Industry Institute-interaction as well as interaction with other educational institution and R&D laboratories both at the national and international levels.
