PSG College of Arts and Science has a long-standing academic tradition of excellence in research and scholarship. This is coupled with the most advanced facilities for the pursuit of higher learning. The college has a team of experienced and efficient faculty and our academic programmes are challenging and updated. Thirty Nine Undergraduate and Twenty Four Postgraduate programmes are offered and may of them are unique. M.Phil and Ph.D programmes are offered in Nineteen faculties.
The college was identified as a College with Potential for Excellence by UGC in October 2004. It is one among 47 colleges in the country, 8 in the State and the only one in Bharathiar University.
The college has been accredited at the FIVE STAR level by NAAC and became an ISO 9001: 1994 certified institution in 2001 and subsequently an ISO 9001: 2000 certified institution since 2003. Hostel Facility
The college provides separate hostel accommodation to boys and girls, with a built up area of 7,200sq. mts.
Boys hostel - capacity of 450.
Girls hostel - capacity 720. The New Hi-tech Hostel can accommodate 320 lady students.
An exclusive hostel is available for International Students with a capacity of 100.
Internet facility is available in the Hostels.
The hostel has an exclusive library for inmates.

The Placement Cell caters to the employment needs of the students and to the well-being of the society through proper guidance, counselling and periodic campus interviews. Total placements made during 2000-2003 by the Placement Cell are 828 with an approximate salary of RS.1 Lakh to RS.2.4Lakhs. Visiting companies include Global organisations like Ford, Wipro, Elly Lily Ranbaxy Infosys, CTS and the like. 89 companies visited the college for campus interview purposes.
