Western India Institute of Aeronautics is established on 2004 to cater the expected growth of Indian aviation and to fulfill demand of providing skilled & trained Aircraft maintenance professionals to the airline industry by imparting effective ab-initio training in the field of Aircraft Maintenance Engineering. The course is approved by Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). Government of India. It is a full time three year course. WIIA is a division of Ahmedabad Aviation & Aeronautics Ltd. (AAA) engaged in flying Training (Pilot training), Air Charter ,Operational wing of Indian Aviation Industry & Indus Institute of Technology & Engineering (IITE),a world class Engineering & Management Educational Group. WIIA has its own facility for On-Job-Training at its campus.

	Other Details The courses in Aircraft Maintenance are open to both men and women. After completing the training program, candidates have to appear for Aircraft Maintenance Licensing examinations held by DGCA. The licenses are issued for a particular type of aircraft. Hence, Aircraft Maintenance Engineers who hold license of servicing Boeing planes are authorized to inspect only Boeing aircraft and certify its fitness.
