The School of Biotechnology was established in 1991 at Devi Ahilya University, Indore with the financial assistance from the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India, New Delhi. Since 1990 to 1997 School was running its classes at the first floor of Vigyan Bhawan at Takshshila Campus of the University. In 1997 the School moved to its own Biotechnology Building in the same campus. Accredited by NAAC with Grade 'B'

M.Sc. Bioinformatics | M.Sc. Biotechnology | M.Sc. Genetic Engineering

1 .	M.Sc. Bioinformatics
	Eligibility Bachelor's degree under 10+2+3 pattern of education in Physical, Biological, Agricultural, Veterinary or Fishery Sciences, Pharmacy, Engineering /Technology, 4-years B.S. (Physical Assistant) course; Or Medicine (MBBS) Or BDS with at least 55% marks
	Duration Four semester
	Admission Procedure Admission is done through a entrance examination conducted by the School itself. School issues application forms in the month of May-June and there is an entrance examination in the month of July.
	No. of Seats We have 24 seats for M. Sc. Bioinformatics (14 All India Seats (after implementation of the judgment of the Supreme Court for 27% OBC reservation); 10 M.P. domicile seats; reservation as per rules).
	Fees (Appx.) Course Fee: Rs. 25,500/- Departmental Fee + Rs. 2000/- (approx) registrar's office fee (Per Semester) + Rs. 3000/- as caution money (required only once, refundable after completion of the course).

2 .	M.Sc. Biotechnology
	Eligibility Bachelor's degree under 10+2+3 pattern of education in Physical, Biological, Agricultural, Veterinary or Fishery Sciences, Pharmacy, Engineering /Technology, 4-years B.S. (Physical Assistant) course; Or Medicine (MBBS) Or BDS with at least 55% marks
	Duration Four semester
	Admission Procedure For Open merit Seats : Admission is done through a combined entrance examination conducted by the Jawahar Lal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi Industry Sponsored Seats : Admission is done through an entrance examination conducted by the School itself. For sponsored candidates School issues application forms in the month of May-June and there is an entrance examination in the month of July. The examination date will be announced at the time of distribution of application forms.
	Fees (Appx.) Course Fee: For Open Merit: Rs. 12,000/- Departmental Fee and Rs. 2000/- (approx) registrar's office fee (Per Semester) + Rs. 3000/- as caution money (required only once, refundable after completion of the course). For Industry Sponsored: Rs.39,000/- Departmental fee and Rs. 2000/- (approx). registrar's office fee (Per Semester) + Rs. 3000/- as caution money (required only once, refundable after completion of the course).

3 .	M.Sc. Genetic Engineering
	Eligibility Bachelor's degree under 10+2+3 pattern of education in Physical, Biological, Agricultural, Veterinary or Fishery Sciences, Pharmacy, Engineering /Technology, 4-years B.S. (Physical Assistant) course; Or Medicine (MBBS) Or BDS with at least 55% marks
