The 4.47 acres land of the college campus and 300 acress of land was donated by a Trust headed by Mahant Dudh-Ahari Bajrang Das. The college has the logo “Aroh Tamso Jyotih” meaning from “darkness to light” as it was set up with the aim to bring the women of this under-developed region to the main stream of the nation. Started with mere 16 girls,the college today has 3000 students striving ahead for academic excellence.
The college got an autonomous status in the year 1988. There is a “Jan Bhagidari Samiti” which looks after the planning, recruitment and financial management of the institution.
Laboratories: The college has 15 well-equipped laboratories for science, home-science and arts faculty including dietetics laboratory, a food science and quality control laboratory and a centralised computer laboratory with internet facilities.
Computer facility : Network Resource Centre recongnised by UGC.
Library: library with almost 63,022 Books, 57 National and International Journals and a number of magazines and newspapers. The library runs on the SOUL software.
