The Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Pune is a premier institute dedicated to research and teaching in the basic sciences.
Established in 2006, the institute falls under the purview of the Ministry of Human Resource Development (vide communication F.No. 22-8/2006-TS.1).

1 .	Ph.D. Mathematics
	Eligibility 55% marks (50% for SC/ST) in: M. A./M. Sc. Mathematics/Statistics/Computer Science or M. Stat. or M.Tech The candidate MUST qualify National Eligibility Test (NET) with CSIR-JRF/UGC-JRF or have a valid GATE rank in Mathematics with more than 95 percentile or must have appeared for the NBHM Ph.D. screening test
	Admission Procedure Only Eligible candidates that meet the minimum educational qualifications and satisfy the additional criteria set by the departments will be called for a written test followed by an interview that may be conducted in 1 or 2 rounds. Based on their academic record and the performance of the candidates in the written test and interview, the departmental selection committee will recommend candidates to the Chairman for admission to the Ph. D. program
