The National Institute of Design (NID) is internationally acclaimed as one of the foremost multi-disciplinary institutions in the field of design education and research. The Business Week, USA has listed NID as one of the top 25 European & Asian programmes in the world. The institute functions as an autonomous body under the department of Industrial Policy & Promotion, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India. NID has been a pioneer in industrial design education after Bauhaus and Ulm in Germany and is known for its pursuit of design excellence to make Designed in India, Made for the World a reality. Placement cell deals with matters concerning professional placement of NID graduates. The prime objective of the Cell is to facilitate its graduating students and industry by providing a meeting ground where the prospective employer companies can identify suitable candidates for placement in their organization. Industry is invited for Pre Placement Talks during which they are required to give a presentation of their company profile, recruitment needs, compensation package and so on. This may be followed by interviews of interested students at a later stage. In addition recruitment needs of the industry is brought to the notice of students through the Placement Cell.
