The college was started on 18th July,1949 with the subjects : Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, English, Marathi and Hindi.
Late Shri S.L. Pandharipande was the founder Principal of the college.
In 1952 the subjects Botany and Zoology and in 1953 the subject Goology were introduced in the Degree course.
The college celebrated “SILVER JUBILEE” in the year 1974.
During the year 1986 the subject – "ELECTRONICS’’ was introduced at B.Sc. level.
Later in the year 1999 the UGC approved Vocational subject "INDUSTRIAL CHEMISTRY " was introduced at B.Sc.
College celebrated Golden Jubilee the year 1999.
UGC approved Carrier Oriented course in " Solar energy " of 6 months duration is available.
