Jashipur, the gateway of Similipal Biosphere, is proud of its apex academic institution i.e. Jashipur College. The college is situated on a hill top, in a campus sprawling on nearly 10 Acres of land of its own by the side of the river, Khairi Bhandan’, near National Highway No 6. It is very close to Simifinal Biosphere, one of the great virgin mountain ranges of India and an ecological wonder. The College was established in the year 1978 and has been discharging the noble work of disseminating knowledge among the inhabitants of the Jashipur valley and that of the mountain dwellers around the area. The college is affiliated to CHSE, Orissa . Previously the college was affiliated to Utkal University and during the session 1999-2000 when North Orissa University came into being, subsequently the college was affiliated to it.
