The Baliapal College of Physical Education was established in JUNE 1981, located at Baliapal, one of the most populated areas of Balasore district of Orissa State. The main purpose of establishing this institute was to up - grade the status of physical education by offering degree and post-graduate professional courses. The Bachelor's degree programme of one year duration (B.P.Ed.) was started in 1981, and Master's Degree course (M.P.Ed.)was introduced in 1987. The Institute started as an affiliated college of the Utkal University, Bhubaneswar and then came to the fold of Fakir Mohan University, Balasore, in 1999.

	Eligibility Bachelor’s Degree in physical education with 50% marks. OR Bachelor’s Degree with physical education as an elective subject with 50% marks. OR Bachelor’s Degree with physical education as an elective subject with 45% marks & participation In National/ Al India Inter-University/ Inter-University/ Competition in sports recognized by AIU OR Or IOA. OR For deputed / In Service candidates i.e ( Trained Physical education teachers/ coaches) with 45% and at least 3 years teaching Experience. OR Bachelor’s Degree with 45% & participated in inter university level / state level /national level in Sports / game / athletics .
