St. Xavier's Catholic College of Nursing

Both Male and Female, single candidates are eligible.Higher Secondary School Certificate Examination (12 years course), Senior School Certificate Examination (10 +2), Pre - Degree Examination (10 + 2), An equivalent with 12 years schooling from a recognized board, University with Science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) and English with minimum of 50% aggregate marks. Candidate should be medically fit. Age Limit: 17 to 25 years (should have completed 17 years on or before 31st December of the year of admission).

4 years including internship

A list of eligible candidates in the order of merit will be prepared by the College Selection Committee on the basis of an interview with the candidates.

Indian Nursing Council

The candidates should have
a) passed the qualification of B.Sc. (Nursing) degree of this university (Dr. M.G.R. Medical University) or any other University accepted as equivalent there to.
b) should have registered with the Tamil Nadu Registration council of Nursing and Midwifery.
c) B.Sc. (Nursing) Graduates should have one year of experience in teaching hospital or in a college or in a school of Nursing or in Community health programme after registration in State Nursing Council.
d) Minimum one year of work experience prior or after Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing.
e) In case of male candidates they should have passed any other course recommended by the Indian Nursing Council in place of Midwifery. Those who have studied Midwifery are eligible for admission to Branch III and IV
Branch III- Obstetrics and Gynaecological Nursing
Branch IV- Community Health Nursing.
f)Every candidate before admission to this course shall submit to the principal of the institution a certificate of Medical fitness from an authorized Medical officer that the candidate is physically fit to undergo the Academic program
