The Department of Education envisions not merely polishing students as 'model teachers", but also to evolve into "a research centre for solving new educational problems of the country". It aims at fostering educational excellence, and to ensure equal access to educational opportunity for all. We believe that the rigorous involvement of both students and teachers provides a strong knowledge base to research in areas like teacher education, school education, higher education, educational administration and management etc. The department runs two courses with a vision to give a scope to the educated youth. It helps them to acquire a Degree which enhances their scale and competency as model teachers. Such a degree that emphasizes on the need of the society and the requisites to meet the future challenges in a value based knowledge society, may be treated as an essential prerequisite for becoming a teacher in a Secondary or Higher Secondary School.
