Nirmala College for Women, situated at Red Fields, Coimbatore is run by the Congregation of the Franciscan Sisters of the Presentation of Mary
The College became autonomous in the year 2007. The Institution continues to be affiliated to Bharathiar University and is autonomous, free to design its own course of studies and adopt innovative strategies of teaching and evaluation.

Chapel:A temple of prayer for the Nirmalites, the Chapel comforts all those who enter.
Laboratories:The application of a concept is as important as its theory. Adhering to this motto, the College has laboratories, where the students experiment and explore the various facets of theoretical knowledge.
Research Block:An Institution dedicated to Research, Nirmala College opened a block exclusively for Research in 2011. Individual Cabins are provided to Research Scholars from each Department to enhance their skills in the field of Research. Computers with access to Internet enable the Scholars to keep up with the latest trends in their Research Area.
Talking Library:Upholding the vision of our Founder, Nirmala extends its helping hand to the down-trodden. Talking Library is one such venture which serves the visually challenged students in their education. In association with the Bharathiar University, the Talking Library was opened in 2008. The Library contains 1,100 cassettes with all necessary accessories accompanied by a staff exclusive for the Talking Library. Many visually challenged school and college students, scholars pursuing research and employees from various organisations are the beneficiaries. The College has been adjudicated the "Best College" for enrolling students with disabilities for inclusive Higher Education awarded by the Department of Social Work, Bharathiar University, Coimbatore for the year 2013 - 2014
