Dr. R. V. Arts and Science College is established in the year 2006 by Dr. R. Venkatesalu Naidu Charitable Trust, which has dedicated itself in the field of education. Dr. R. Venkatesalu Naidu, the founder of the above mentioned trust has been highly successful in running many colleges of various disciplines. He is a best philanthropist and a respectable citizen of our district.
It is a co-educational institution, which strives to provide high quality education to the youths. The college is situated in the temple town of Karamadai on the Coimbatore - Mettupalayam road and is easily accessible from any part of Coimbatore.
Library:The college library has sufficient books and furniture with internet facilities. 3374 books, 128 reference books, 20 magazines and 23 journals are also available . A reprographic machine has been provided for the use of faculty and students to take copies from journals and books.
Yoga: Yoga class is being conducted for all the students during their second year of the programme.
Tally:Tally course is being provided for final year commerce students. The course conducted by the CSC, Mettupalayam twice a week. Certificates are provided to the successful students by the CSC.
IV and Educational Tour: All final year students are being sent to IV and Educational Tours every academic year. We have developed MOUS with various industries for the purpose of IV and Inplant Training.
Inplant training:All final year students are being sent for Inplant Training during their 6th semester for a period of two weeks.
Psychological Counselling: Students are counselled on their psychological problems. Mrs.Lakshmi M.Sc(Psychology)., M.Ed., visits the college twice every month to counsel the students.
Medical Facilities: A Medical Doctor visits the college regularly for the treatment of ill students.
Student Development Programme: Our students are enriched with knowledge through the student development programme conducted department wise. Eminent scholars are invited for the purpose.
Co-Curricular and Extra Curricular Activities:Our students participate in various competitions conducted in the college and also in other colleges. They are also encouraged to participate in cultural activities like dancing, singing, drama etc on and off the campus.
Hostel Facility
College provides Hostel facilities for both boys and girls to accommodate up to 250 students. Vegetarian food is served to the students. There are two Residential Wardens to take care of the welfare of the students. A T.V, in well furnished hall, is available separately for both boys and girls. Drinking water facility is available without any hindrance. There is a Guest House for the visitors for a short stay with their wards.
