The Optometric Education Society (O E S) Lotus College of Optometry was established in the year 2000, by Late Shree Naval P.Baliwalla, as Mumbai’s first four year degree program in Optometry. It is a unit of the Optometric Education Society, a government registered trust. The prime objective of the trust is to develop human resources for rendering eye care services to growing ophthalmic and optometric professions. Since its establishment, the College has achieved many milestones to its credit. Besides human resource development, the College is also actively involved in research activities, community eye health and offering specialized services in optometry.
The college sports a beautiful library with a large collection of books, journals, CD-Roms and videotapes. It also has a well-equipped optics laboratory, and other lab facilities include anatomy and physiology laboratories. The demonstration clinics, utilized to train students on clinical skills are equipped with state of art instruments for refractions, contact lenses, low vision devices and orthoptics.
