Adhiparasakthi College of Science was the first self-financing college started in the year 1988. It was affiliated to Madras University till the academic year 2000 – 2001 and from the year 2001 – 2002 onwards it is affiliated to Thiruvalluvar University
The College library will be kept open on all working days from 9.30 a.m to 6.00 p.m. The Library contains almost 1500 titles with 20,000 volumes on both curriculum and general topics.
Playground with facilities to play Volley ball, Cricket, Foot ball, Basket ball, Hand ball, Badminton, Throw ball, Tennikoit and Kabadi, track and field for athletics are available. Indoor games like Carom and Chess are also played. Extra-mural, intra-mural competitions and sports meet are organized regularly.
