Arasan Ganesan Polytechnic College, Sivakasi is a Government aided co-educational Institution founded in 1981 by Arasan A.M.S.Ganesan, a famous philanthropist of Sivakasi town under Arasan Educational Charity trust as per Tamilnadu Government Order Ms No.1640, Education, dated 3.8.1981. The polytechnic has been receiving government aid for recurring and non-recurring expenditure since April 1982.
The infrastructure facilities made available within the unique green environment and the serene atmosphere are greatly conducive to help the learning community. The numerous buildings of the Polytechnic provide abundant instructional, administrative and residential areas which include a two storeyed main building, spacious workshop buildings, a full fledged computer center with 24 hours Highspeed Broadband Internet connection facility, a separate block for printing technology, a well equipped Library (CLAIR) and a well furnished Hostel. The Over-all buil-up space amounts to 16,211 Sq.m (1,74,430 Sq.ft.).
Canteen Facility: To provide snacks, tiffin and beverages a canteen with separate building is functioning in our campus for the benefit of staff, students and visitors. The canteen is open on all the working days.
Hostel Facility
Hostel Facilities Available: A new additional hostel building constructed at a cost of Rs.50 lakhs was opened in the year 1999. It offers single room facility and a spacious dining hall accommodating 200 students to dine at a time.The first floor has been constructed at a cost of Rs. 30 lakhs to accommodate 75 inmates. It offers Deluxe Triple Bed Room A/c and non A/c. Triple Bed Room and Dormitory room facilities.
Uninterrupted power supply is provided in the hostel with the help of a new 20 KVA electrical generator. There are facilities for the inmates to do exercises in the morning daily. Newspapers and weekly magazines are also provided to the students.
Placement Service Available: To guide and assist the outgoing students a placement office has been established for the final year students. Inplant training is arranged to second year students every year by this office during winter and summer vacations. Based on the employer's request suitable candidates are sponsored for placement interviews inside the campus or in the employer's premises. Reputed companies conduct campus interview to select the best students of our Polytechnic for appointment.
