The State Institute of Hospitality Management Kozhikode is an Autonomous Institute jointly sponsored by Ministry of Tourism, Government of India and Department of Tourism, Government of Kerala. Registered under Society of Registration Act with District Registrar of Societies, Kozhikode the institute is located on the West Hills Kozhikode, adjacent to Government Guest House and is 5 km from Kozhikode railway station. Its first academic session commenced from July 2008.
The Institute has state of art infrastructure to provide quality training in the field of Hotel Management and equipped with following:-
Basic Training Kitchen (BTK) - The BTK is used for providing training to the students in basic Continental and Indian cuisines. The kitchen is equipped with latest equipments.
Advance Training Kitchen (ATK) - The ATK is used for teaching and training international cuisines to students. The ATK is the place where finishing touches are given to the budding Chefs.
Quantity Food Kitchen (QFK) - QFK is used for students in order to prepare them to face the challenge of cooking for large groups and catering the wide variety of people representing different culinary zones of India.
Bakery & Confectionary -
The Bakery & Confectionary department trains the students in the art of making yeast products, flour confectionary products, chocolates, cold and hot pudding in order to prepare them face the challenges of the industry.
House Keeping -
The Institute is equipped with the most modern automatic machines to train the students to provide clean and hygienic atmosphere. The Guest rooms with most modern facility also help the students to obtain practical training.
Training restaurant-
SIHM has created two training restaurants to train the students in various aspects of F&B Service. The restaurants enable the students to make themselves aware of the basics and fundamentals.
