Sree Mookambika Institute of Medical Sciences (SMIMS) is one of the fastest emerging Medical Teaching Institutes in South India. Nestled among the serene hill-scapes of Kanyakumari District, Tamil Nadu, SMIMS is the flagship endeavor of the Sree Mookambika Groups of Institutions. Sree Mookambika group of Institutions are run by PADANILAM WELFARE TRUST KULASEKHARAM. The Trust was formed to promote the welfare of the Minority Malayalam speaking Community and to provide quality Medical Education to rural students. 10+2 or its equivalent with minimum 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology each and 50% marks in English.
The five and a half years program includes one year of Compulsory Residential Rotating Internship (CRRI) and follows a cirriculum stipulated by the Tamilnadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University.
Admission Procedure
The selection of students to Medical College shall be based solely on merit and all management quota candi­dates should appear for the Common Entrance Test for the Management quota conducted by Tamil Nadu Private Medical College Association. The rank list will be prepared based the Common Medical Entrance Test and Personal Interview and Aptitude Tests.
No. of Seats
Of the 100 seats, 50 are filled up by the government allocations and 50 by the management, of which 15 are reserved for Non Resident Indians (NRIs).
