This polytechnic was established due to the initiative of Thiru.A.D. Jawaharpandian in memory of his beloved better-half, the late Mrs.Dharmambal in the year 1979. It was functioning at Valivalam Desikar Polytechnic upto 1986 as a women''s wing. Due to the efforts of Thiru A.D.Jayaveera pandian, the polytechnic moved into the existing campus during the year 1986-87. Now it is named as A.D.J. Dharmambal polytechnic college a coeducational Institution.
