	Eligibility A pass in S.S.L.C (10 years of schooling) under new regulations with eligibility for admission to the Higher secondary courses of study in Tamil Nadu Higher secondary board schools. Lateral Entry Scheme to Second year : Candidate who have passed H.S.C in engineering subject (or) other subjects like Mathematics, Science are eligible for admission, in the II year of the Diploma courses in Basic engineering like civil, mechanical, electrical & electronics, Computer technology, electronics & communication engineering the vocational candidates should have studied one or two of the related subjects viz maths/ physics/ chemistry.
