Government R C College of Commerce & Management starting off as an intermediate college, it metamorphosed into a degree college in the year 1952 simultaneously moving to the present magnificent stone building. It is the first Commerce College run by the Government of Karnataka and only one of its kind. The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) an autonomous body set up by the University Grants Commission to accredit educational institutions in the country for quality, has accredited Government R C College of Commerce and Management with B++ grade in 2003.
Sports: College has a multi-facility sports center housed in a separate block. It is equipped with multi-gym(12 station & 4 station), exercise cycles and treadmill. It has two basketball courts and various sporting activities to promote physical well being among the students.
Library: The college has a resourceful library with more than 48000 books out of which 38000 books belongs to commerce & management only. The library houses a separate reading and reference sections, and subscribes 50 national and 3 international journals.
The Placement Cell was set up with a view to find avenues and place the management graduates in promising positions. The Cell has chalked out a Comprehensive Skill Development Programme for the management graduates which includes training in areas like Communication Skills, Presentation Skills, Analytical Skills, Group Skills, Business Skills, Negotiation Skills, Body Language Skills, Inter-personal Skills, Intra-personal Skills and the Job Skills.
