The Seshasayee Institute of Technology, Trichirappalli is an AICTE approved, Government aided, Autonomous, Co-educational Technical Institution run by a registered society comprising of philanthropists under the name and style of "Seshasayee Institute Of Technology" with a view to uplift the techno-social status of all the vital stakeholders in this central region of Tamil Nadu through various 3-year Diploma Programmes at post-secondary level and a variety of non-formal Continuing Education Programmes.
The polytechnic is situated 8 km from the Tiruchirapalli junction on Trichy - Thanjavur main road. The campus covers an area of 5.13 hectares and hostel 1.92 hectares. The basic infrastructure includes a main building, an auditorium, five laboratory building, five work shop building, a full fledged computer centre, a CAD-CAM laboratory, a well equipped library and a hostel for boys only.
Hostel Facility
The hostel campus spreads over an area of 1.92 Hectares. The hostel has 40 rooms, a mini library and two recreation halls. the hostel kitchen has stream cooking facilities for preparation of food under hygienic condition. The Principal is the Warden of the hostel. He is assisted by two Deputy Wardens. Accommodation is available for 150 students. The mess charges are based on the dividing system. Only Vegetarian diet is provided. All admissions to the hostel will be in the strict order of priority with due preference to the senior students. Admission to and residence at the Hostel are governed by separate rules and regulations.
Interacting with industrial establishments and identifying suitable areas for helping the students to undertake project work. Organizing career guidance programmes. Involving student co-coordinators as placement canvassers by entrusting to them duty of visiting employer industries. Making outstation placement - finding trips by TPO to employer industries/firms/companies/organization to fix on-campus interview programmes. Conducting regular aptitude tests to improve the students thinking power, alertness and analytical power to the pre-final and final year students. Involving external trainers for soft skill development. Conducting specific pre-placement training programmes for participants of on and off campus interviews. Maintaining a close contact with employer industries while furnishing them with latest profile of the college and the resume of students to enhance the scope of employability among students. Maintaining relationship with renowned placement consultants and recruiting agencies to widen the job-net for the students. Conducting periodical meeting with alumni. Transmitting information on placement interviews to the alumni through group mail ids.
