Other Details
The post graduate courses are organized in two phases. The Phase I is conducted in India for 9 months. The Phase I consists of core modules where the emphasis is on the development and enhancement of knowledge and skills through classroom lectures, tutorials and hands on experiments/practicals. The performance of the candidates is periodically assessed through oral, written and practical tests. This is followed by pilot projects, giving practical training towards how the skills gained can be used for solving problems by applying input from space as one of the information content. At the end of Phase I, successful candidates are given post graduate diploma by the centre.
During Phase II, each returning student is expected to carry out an approved project in his or her home country for a period of one year. The project is formulated jointly by the scholar and his/her advisor in consultation with the sponsoring organization, in an area relevant to the development of their country. This gives an opportunity to the scholar to apply their knowledge and training received to tackle a 'real life' problem, where space input can be used. These scholars, whose academic qualifications satisfy Andhra University norms can submit a thesis based on their research work for the award of Master of Technology (M.Tech) degree.
