The Kavery Polytechnic College was started in the year 1998 with the approval of All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi and Director of Technical Education, Chennai to cater the needs of youth in urban, rural & township areas. It aims to provide a quality Technical Education for the students betterment & prosperity. It is located on the Salem to Mettur Main Road in 27 acres wide calm and beautiful location suitable for Quality Technical Education. The Kavery Polytechnic College Initially Polytechnic College was started with three branches of Diploma Courses now it has eight diploma branches. The Institutions having a vision to provide education on a new concept where in the products of the Polytechnic not only excel in academics but also equipped with emotional stability, confidence, moral and other ethical values.The student strength in 1998 was only 50 and during 2010 - 11 it is 2500. The class room strength is limited as teachers can provide individual attention

A new sophisticated hostel was constructed for boys in the campus with Modern Kitchen, Dining, TV, Reading room, Play area etc., Separate Rest room and self development programmes are available for girls with a motivation team for shaping girls in multi activities.
Separate cell is functioning for Training and Placing the students in various companies in Tamilnadu and Karnataka states during and after their study. Frequent interviews are arranged in the campus for placements.
