D.A.V College For Girls, Garhshankar, which is a creation under aspiration of Swami Dayanand Ji. Founder of Arya Samaaj and in particular in abeyance of the principle No-8 "Avidya kaa naash aur vidya ki vridhi karni chahiiye". It is a manifestation of quest for knowledge, has been catering to the needs of the female of this backward area. The splendid building of the college consists of spacious, well furnished and airy class-rooms, attractive and properly equipped computer-lab and canteen. The college is situated at a convenient distance from the town in the scenic beauty of fields and is away from the din, distraction and temptation of the cities , the very location of the college in the natural and rural setting, engenders closer contacts between the teacher and the taught and it has a large, beautifully designed impressive campus. It has spacious, well furnished and airy class rooms, attractive and properly equipped laboratory and computer section. A spacious cycle shed has been erected for the benefit to the students. Water coolers and generators have been installed to facilitate to the students. There are adequate arrangements for N.C.C., N.S.S. and Youth Welfare activities.
