Mahendra Institute of Engineering and Technology, a recognized leader in professional and carrier oriented education, imparting value based education for men and women instituted in the year 2009 funded by the Mahendra Educational Trust (MET) founded in 1978 by the Chairman of the trust Shri. M. G. Bharath Kumar, a renowned educationist and philanthropist. The trust gallops eighteen educational institutions early from schools to higher learning technical institutions. The institution ascertained its wider network with renowned educational institutions and industries for the faculty promotion and student development. Mahendra Institute of Engineering Technology is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi and affiliated to Anna University of Technology Coimbatore.
The total built-up area of the present infrastructural facility is 15,744 square meter. With the entire advanced modern class rooms and laboratories, computing facilities, Library, play facilities and Multipurpose Gymnasium, the students are provided with all round knowledge, hands on training with potential employability skills to be a readily employable engineering graduate in the ever growing changing scenario.
Hostel Facility
Mahendra Institute of Engineering and Technology has well-furnished separate Hostels for Boys and Girls. Each Hostel is facilitated with single bed, double bed and dormitory arrangements. Purified drinking water, hot water and cold water are provided round the clock. There is a 24-hour power backup, enabling adequate comfort to the residents. Facilities for communication, entertainment, and indoor games such Chess, Carom and modern Gym are also extended. Each Hostel houses a Common reading room, Dining hall and requisite medical facilities. Hygienic and Nutritious food is provided based on the students’ need and the mess functions on dividing system.

Mahendra Institute of Engineering Technology motivates the commendable students to achieve brilliance in their academic activities by endowed with suitable cash incentives, certificates and other rewards. Each year the first two rank holders of all the branches of study are honored during the college day function. To inculcate the attitude of attending classes in regular, the students with 100% class attendance are acknowledged and suitably felicitated. Accordingly, it regularly organises a series of training programmes for students in most important areas such as Aptitude and technical know-how, Communication skills, Current affairs, Group discussion, Interview skills, Leadership qualities, Personality development, Soft skills, etc. The students are also trained in the advanced Communication and Career Laboratory for developing fluent communication and creative competence. Ample opportunities are provided to improve Aptitude, logical reasoning and problem solving skills through special lectures delivered by the experts in concerned areas. Also, in collaboration with popular universities in USA and Europe, the College shares with students the information on employment and higher educational opportunities, and offers them facilities to go abroad for receiving training and subsequently placement.
