National Power Training Institute, North Eastern Region has been set up by the Ministry of Power, Govt. of India in the year 2003
Library:Institute is having a good library with a large collection of technical books, journals, periodicals. Internet facility, e-journals, e-books are also available.
Laboratories: Hydro laboratory : Working models of all types of Hydro Turbines & related experimental set-ups.
Control & Instrumentation Laboratory: Long range of experimental set-ups and incorporation of DCS concept in Power Plant C&I systems.
Computer Laboratory: Equiped with 40 computers,internet connectivity & Power System S/W training package.
Mechanical Laboratory: Long range of experimental set-ups & working models.
Electrical Laboratory: Long range of experimental set-ups & working models.
Hostel Facility
Hostels are available at NPTI (NER) to accommodate about 100 trainees. Canteen facilities are also available in the Hostels. Recreation and indoor sports facilities like Table Tennis, Badminton, Carom, Chess etc. are available for trainees in Hostel, creating a congenial atmosphere of a Home away from Home. The hostel accommodation is provided to the trainees only for the period of training course. There is also a separate hostel for ladies with 10 intake capacity.
NPTI students get ample opportunities in placement activities. In recent time, NPTI-NER trained engineers have been selected/readily placed in companies of National and International Power stations,Sub-Stations,Manufacturing Plants,PSTI,CPRI,HLTC,Simulator& GIS laboratory at NPTI-HQ,Faridabad.
