UPES is recognized by University Grants Commission (UGC) under Section 2(f) of the UGC Act, 1956 and is the first university under Public-Private Partnership.UPES is accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) which is an autonomous body established by the University Grants Commission of India to access and accredit institutions of Higher Education in India
Laboratories:UPES has established large number of laboratories for different programs related to its specific domains like Oil & Gas, Energy, Infrastructure, Aerospace & Aviation and Automotive Design Engineering. UPES is enriched with 70 labs, out of which 61 labs are catering to the needs of students and remaining are actively engaged for Research and Development in pursuit of excellence.
Library:A well equipped library is the backbone of any university. Constructed in a total area of more than 22000 sq. ft., UPES’s new age Learning Resource Centre has a seating capacity of more than 400 students and contains over 50,000 volumes of publications including books, standards, reports, proceedings and more than 150 National and International Journals in the fields of Petroleum Exploration, Power, Infrastructure, Chemical, Computer, Electrical, Electronics and Mechanical Engineering, Information Technology and Management, etc.
Hostel Facility
UPES provides hostel facilities to its students on a 'first-come first-served basis'. Outstation students are given preference for these facilities. There are five hostel blocks with 555 bed capacity.
