B.P.S. Mahila Polytechnic was established in 1984 and now is a part of B.P.S. Mahila Vishwavidyalaya, Khanpur Kalan (First Women University in North India). B.P.S. Mahila Polytechnic is an ISO 9001:2008 certified institute and aims at women empowerment by educating them and producing contributing members who shall go on to make a positive effect on the society. It offers amenities and environment for education of girl students. The B.P.S. Mahila Polytechnic is affiliated to the Directorate of Technical Education, Govt. of Haryana, and approved by the AICTE. This Institution is situated at a distance of 10Km from Gohana (Sonepat) and 35 Km. from Sonepat on Gohana-Ganaur.
BPS Mahila Polytechnic was started during 1984 with two diploma courses 1. Library & Information Science 2. Commercial Practice & Steno Graphy with 60 students. Now nine courses are running in this Polytechnic, Namely Electronics & Communication Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Medical Laboratory & Technology, D–Pharmacy,Library & Information Science, Office Management & Computer Application, Architecture Assistant Ship, and Fashion Technology. Presently more than 1000 girls students are under training. Now this Polytechnic is known as Institute of Polytechnic, because it constituent the part of BPS Mahila University Khanpur Kalan.
Free education is provided for physically handicap students and all the boarding lodging expenditures are born by the institution through the MHRD (Govt. of India). For community development a scheme namely CDTP through the MHRD is run by this institute.
Hostel Facility
The University has hostel facilities for the outstation students. The University has 14 hostels which can accommodate around 4000 students. Each hostel has a reading room and study hall having newspapers and periodicals. The common room has Dish TV connection and the students are provided with indoor games facilities for recreation. The hostels are properly maintained and good hygiene is ensured for the students.
