GKU has been established by the Act of the Legislature of the state of Punjab, under the Guru Kashi University Act 2011 (Punjab Act No 37 of 2011), to provide education at all levels in all disciplines of higher education (including professional, medical, technical, general education) through all the modes of education. The University has been set up with a mission of spreading the knowledge and empowering the youth so that they can contribute in the growth of the country and work for the welfare of the society.
Library: It has a library with more than 54000 volumes of books.
Transport : Guru Kashi University, Talwandi Sabo Distt. Bathinda formerly Guru Gobind Singh Group of Institutions has a fleet of 33 buses to serve the needs of staff and students.
Canteen: GKU University has a central canteen, two mini canteens, four hostel mess halls and a cafeteria within its premises, at a close proximity from both academic blocks and the hostels. This helps provide easy access to the eating areas from all the building blocks. The cafeteria serves tea and snacks whereas the large mess halls are equipped to serve lunch and dinner for all students between scheduled timings.
Hostel Facility
Sufficient Hostel facility is available on the campus itself. Hostel are having all the modern facilities including the internet. It has got five boys'' and one girls'' hostel.
