IIMM Jamshedpur started way back in 1975, operating from the office of the then Manager Purchase of Tata Steel Mr. H.S. Vazifdar. The prominent team members were Brig. R. Heerjee, Mr. Arnold Mathias and Mr. A. K. Perti. Later the office was shifted to ‘Golmuri Club’ at Tinplate, Golmuri.
The Education began at "Golmuri Club" where classes were held till 1994. In 1995 the office shifted to Russi Mody Centre for Excellence under the leadership of Mr. Arnold Mathias and Mr. A. K. Perti. Since then IIMM Jamshedpur has been improving in all spheres of activities be it education, participation in all National and Local activities, and providing consultancy services.
Today it has more than 200 students studying in various streams of Materials Management courses run by IIMM. With the efforts of dedicated members towards the cause of IIMM, today Jamshedpur Branch has a very special status among all branches in the country.
