Hans Raj College is a constituent college of the University of Delhi and a premier institution of the DAV Managing Committee - the largest non-government educational organization of the country. After partition DAV Managing Committee decided to set up its institutions in India and the first to be set up was DAV College Ambala . On July 26, 1948 the college was set up in memory of Mahatma Hans Raj (1882-1938) the founder of DAV College Lahore and a pioneer in the field of education.

Other Details
The 5 year integrated M.Sc. Earth Science will be conducted by the Department of Geology and Hans Raj College from the current session onwards. The subjects like, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics will be taught in Hans Raj college of Delhi University. The students will be required to undergo training in the summer vacations during the five years of the proramme, either in the Department or at other National/international Laboratories. The course has a possible exit option after three years (six semesters) wherein a degree in B.Sc. Earth Science will be provided.

55% marks in aggregate in Any Master’s Degree examination of the University of Delhi or an examination recognized as equivalent thereto with atleast two papers in Mathematics/ Computer Science/ Statistics/ Operational Research at graduation/ higher level. OR
55% marks in aggregate in any Bachelor’s Degree examination under 10+2+3 scheme of examination of the University of Delhi or an examination recognized as equivalent thereto with atleast two papers in Mathematics/ Computer Science/ Operational Research/ Statistics.
