The Indira Gandhi Institute of Co-operative Management Lucknow (IGICM) is one of the premier Management institutes of the state established in the year 1956. The IGICM is functioning under the administrative control of National Council for Co-operative Training (NCCT), New Delhi funded by Ministry of Agriculture, Department of co-operation, Government of India. The basic objective of the institute is to develop human resource for efficient and professional Management of an enterprise by imparting various management training programmes. The IGICM conducts Management Development Programs (MDPs) and Diploma courses for the employees of the state government and co-operative organization. The institute also offers computer application programs for both direct and sponsored candidates.
Library: IGICM library has an excellent collection of more than 12,000 books on management and related areas .It also subscribes 84 numbers of periodicals and journals. Besides, there are a good number of audio and video cassettes on a variety of subjects . There is continuous effort to make additions of new books / Journals to enable the faculty and students to know the latest development in all areas of business. The library of the institute with its study centre is kept open from 10:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. on all working days.
Hostel Facility
Hostel consists of single and double occupancy rooms. All rooms are with attached bathrooms and other amenities. A well furnished hostel influenced by the confluence of three rivers existing in the state is being developed as:
Gomti (Executive Hostel) having 30 rooms with modernized facilities and comfortable stay of participants are accommodated as twin sharing basis.
Ganga (Boys Hostel) to provide a very comfortable stay to the male participants of MBA and other Diploma and short- term programmes.
Sarsawati (Girls Hostel) to provide a very comfortable stay of the female participants of MBA and other programmes. The participants residing in the hostel are required to strictly abide by the hostel rules as laid down during their stay in the hostel, failing to the norms will compel for disciplinary action. Rooms in the hostel will be allocated on the first come first serve basis. All the rooms are twin sharing with a common dining hall and recreation hall.
