The college is affiliated to Himachal Pradesh University and various under-graduate classes are taught under the streams of Science, Arts and Commerce. A large number of students from Karsog sub-division and other remote places of District Mandi, Kullu, and Shimla enroll themselves in this college. The number of students is increasing leap and bounds every year because of the good infrastructural facilities, remarkable teaching standard and amiable environment of the institute where they get an opportunity of all round development.
The picturesquely beautiful campus of Government College Karsog sprawling over more than Three Acres nestles in the lap of nature. It is located at the centre of lush green valley of Karsog subdivision of district Mandi, which is the farthest corner of the region. Govt. College Karsog Library, housed on third Floor in a big hall, offers excellent environment for study. Having its own building designed to various function of modern college library. The room has space to accommodate 10,000 volumes in stack area about 150 readers in reading hall. Separate room for staff/Research scholars.
