Keeping in view economic development, the need to exploit the demographic dividend and the lessons learnt in vocational education and training initiatives , the Government of India has formulated National Skill Development Mission (NSDM) in 2009 and drawn a detailed roadmap for skill training of 500 million of the population by 2022.
In view of the above , NSDM is required to ensure active participation of all including private sector to give special training to young men & women , workers and technicians towards meeting domestic as well as global skill needs.
