Hindu Girls College was started as a girls wing of Hindu College, Sonepat in 1958 with the intention of extending education to girls of the region. It acquired a separate entity in 1982. It has a glorious tradition committed to excellence and women empowerment. It enjoys a pride of place amongst the educational institutions of the NCR and is one of the most sought after institutes renowned for inculcating the right values while making the girls techno savvy. More than 2300 students pass out every year as conscientious, noble and sensible citizens proudly carrying lasting impressions of the institute. The college is run under the aegis of Hindu Educational and Charitable Society. The management is ever anxious to provide the latest facilities to enhance the already enormous and up-to-date infrastructure. The sole aim of these philanthropists being that no deserving girls is deprived of education for want of money. Extra curricular and co-curricular activities are regularly organised to hone the latent talents of our students. Our students are rewarded with thumping performances in Inter college, Inter University, State and National level competitions. Sports is the regions forte and athletes of the college have excelled at state and national and international level. The college contributes to the nation building with its 3 NSS units, one NCC battalion, Rangers, Red Cross and Red Robin Club. Students are trained to be self reliant with its Earn While You Learn Scheme.
The college has a perfect ambience with its big, airy and well furnished classrooms in magnificent multi-storeyed buildings. It is environment friendly with its exquisite flora and fauna. the college is steered by a highly qualified, experienced and dedicated faculty of 82 of which 44 are M.Phil and Ph.D. They keep themselves abreast of the latest developments by pursuing research, higher studies, attending seminars/workshop and publishing.
Hostel Facility
In 1967 the hostel was built in the college premises itself. The hostel today can boast of a new three-storeyed block which is fully equipped with all modern amenities. The hostel can accommodate 450 students. It aims to provide total security and safety to its inmates.
Corporate Resource Cell, an association of faculty members and students, deals with training and placement needs of the students. It has been quite active in arranging industry visits , extension lectures , summer training and final placements .Students have gained invaluable first hand experience by visiting companies like Bhushan Steels Ltd. , Somany Ceramics Ltd., HP Fertilizers Ltd., Mother Dairy etc .
