The school of Computer And Systems Sciences is affiliated to the National Knowledge Network (NKN) of the Department of Science and Technology, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. The NKN aims to connect the students and teachers of the School with experts from national reputed institutes.
The laboratories are well equipped with latest licensed software and hardware. The infrastructure consists of a high speed 1Gbps fiber optic backbone connecting the three campuses.The academic and residential (hostel) campuses are provided with WiFi based Internet connectivity for students and faculties. Presently there are 21 laboratories, having more than 950 PCs (HP- Compaq, IBM, Wipro, HCL etc) exclusively for the students of Computer Applications at UG and PG Level. Wipro Netpower Series Server and IBM Server (Intel Xeon Processor) are there to cater all the labs on multiple platforms (Windows 2000, Unix, Linux). Dedicated network equipments and peripherals include high speed laser printers, scanners etc.
Hostel Facility
JNU has excellent hostel facilities that provide "A home away from home." Nearly 2000 students live in hostels, and by July 2013-14, the number of resident students is likely to rise upto 2500.
The students of JNU have been placed in various highly reputed and esteemed organizations like Infosys, Satyam, Syntel, Accenture, Subex World, CTS, TCS, CSC, JSW Steels, L&T, Iflex, Hexaware, IBM, Wipro, HCL, Fiserve, Tech Mahindra, iGate Patani, Mahindra & Mahindra, EDS etc. through campus/off campus interviews/placements.
