Vivekananda Institute of Technology & Science (VITS), Karimnagar was established in 2004 as a part of the VITS Group of Institutions. The college was established to serve the people of the backward region of the state of Andhra Pradesh (India). College is developed strictly in accordance with the provisions of governing rules & regulations of the approving bodies.
library: VITS takes pride in possessing the state of the art library which is spread over a sprawling area of about 600- sq.mts. and can simultaneously accommodate 300- students at a stretch. At present, the library has a collection of more than 22,000 volumes of books. The institution has made an investment of more than Rs.55-lakhs towards the purchase of all kinds of books, till now. This speaks volumes of the institute's determination and sincerity in providing excellent facility to the students and faculty members. The institute has subscribed to back volumes , periodicals & journals of international standard in the relevant areas of engineering & technology. A large number of newspapers & non-technical periodicals are also subscribed for acquisition of general awareness among the students and teachers .
Sport and Games: Football, hockey, cricket ground, basketball court, tennis court, and volleyball courts have been maintained by the Department of Physical Education. Outdoor and indoor recreation facility is available both during and after college hours, in its sports complex building. The college's sports council conducts annual sport events and also organizes Inter-collegiate tournaments.
Canteen: The college is a large spacious area with the variety of refreshments and meals available it tends to be the most popular place on campus, not only for physical refreshments but also for student bonding, discussions and even work on assignments and projects. College canteen provides delicious and hygienic food at very affordable prices. South Indian, north Indian, Chinese food both vegetarian and non vegetarian are available.
Central Semnar Hall: The stunningly beautiful A/C Central Seminar Hall is an architectural delight and is a definite feather in the cap of VITS suite of infrastructure. Special care has been taken to build this Seminar Hall so that its acoustics are at optimum levels, and it also has an ultra modern dynamic sound system installed. This newly built auditorium hosts regularly many national level symposiums, college functions and other gala and colourful cultural fests.
In VITS separate Training & Placement wing exists for outgoing students for placements and higher studies (In India & Abroad), along with soft skills Training & Entrepreneur development training. A number of first batch of outgoing students have already been placed in organisations such as Infosys, Wipro, Satyam, IBM, Syntel, CTS, L&T Infotech Etc.
