Gyan Jyoti College was established under the aegis of Vivekananda Academic Foundation, a registered trust. It is the brainchild of a conglomeration of Corporate Houses and eminent personalities who wanted to bring about a conspicuous change in the educational scenario in North Bengal region in particular and North-Eastern region in general. Gyan fyoti College is the first self -financed, multi-faculty educational institution in the region. The college seeks to channelize education by inculcating in students certan definite career goals. It provides quality education for the total development of students.
Library: Gyan Jyoti College has an well-equipped library containing a wide collection of the latest text as well as reference books. The library also subscribes to numerous daily newspapers and magazines. It also maintains a good number of research journals on various subjects.
Seminar hall: Gyan Jyoti College has a spacious seminar hall with a seating capacity of more than 300 students. It is fully furnished and technically updated with a modern LCD! OHP projector and sound system. A 35 mm screen helps in showing educational films and slide shows. All seminars, workshops, presentations etc are held here.
Computer Lab: A state-of-the art computer lab is provided to the students with internet facility to facilitate access to latest information to students. The computers are backed with the latest hardware and software configurations.
Sports: The college has a sprawling playfield to cater to the needs of the students. Students are encouraged to participate in individual and team events both in the college and inter-college tournaments. It is a member of the North Bengal University Sports Board and participates in team events like football, cricket, badminton, volleyball etc. Outdoor as well as indoor games are conducted as part of sports.
Canteen: The college has a separate building housing the canteen within the campus. It has fast food facility to meet the requirements of the students and the staff. It is hygienically maintained. It is well furnished and maintains a good standard.
