In the year 2006 Mahatma Gandhi Study & Research Center was established in North Maharashtra University. The Gandhi Study &Research centre proposed to spread the values of Gandhism, human and all other eternal values through the various activities among the students from School level to doctorate level. The main aims and objectives of Mahatma Gandhi Study & Research Centre are to propagate the life and mission of Mahatma Gandhi through diverse socio-educational and cultural activities.
The library of the Centre is attracting scholars and students alike for consultation, and the staff here encourage and guide the visitors. The books of the Centre have been classified and user-friendly rearrangement will be an attraction for research, students and scholars’ .This centre has a good collection of Gandhian books. At present there are 2000 books on Gandhian thought and practices in different languages. Gandhi Research Center has also subscribed 6 periodicals. In addition to this we have a good collection of Gandhiji’s photographs. (4156), films and documentaries (51), postal stamps and photo copies (1000) spinning wheels.(3).
