Originally, the Institute was founded by HSNC Board in 1985 as an extension center of the Bombay Institute of Technology, Mumbai and was known as “Bombay Institute of Technology, Extension Ulhasnagar”. It was popularly known as “BIT”. In 1993, the Institute got the separate identity when ‘Bombay’ in the name of Institute was dropped and renamed as “Institute of Technology, Ulhasnagar”. In 2010, the Institute is again renamed as “Smt. S. H. Mansukhani Institute of Technology, Ulhasnagar”.
Laboratories:The Institute has well equipped laboratories for Electronics, Computers and Applied Sciences. The four electronics laboratories are equipped with everything that is required for getting thorough insight into practical aspects of engineering. It has state-of-art equipment such as digital storage oscilloscopes, high frequency oscilloscopes, large number of analog and digital measuring instruments. These laboratories contain number of trainer kits, such as colour television, VCR, EPABX, CRO trainer kits etc.
Library:The Institute Library is one of our core strength. It is situated on the second floor. It is a well-stocked library with latest editions of text books and reference books spanning the entire spectrum of engineering subjects. The library regularly subscribes many acknowledged periodicals, journals and magazines. The entire collection of more than 23,000 books is readily available to students and teachers either at the reading room or for home issue.
