Sri Sankara Dental College was established under the aegis of S R Educational and Charitable trust to prepare students for a Bachelor's Degree in Dental Surgery. The Dental College & Hospital are committed to providing state of the art facilities & health care to the community of this region.
Library: The library with a seating capacity of 100 is an ocean of 3000 books with newer publications and editions added every year, 25 National and International journals available for the undergraduate, and the staff. E-Library, computers and multimedia facilities enable scientific presentations, seminars and publications. The College boasts of an excellent Wi-Fi enabled Main Library which is host to a commendable 2000 book titles in dentistry, with a total of 6000 books. Internet access to the latest in literature is available with subscriptions to over 46 international and national journals. Back issues of the most important journals are also available in the library in bound form for the last 10 years.
Lecture Halls: Sri Sankara Dental College has 5 lecture halls, each one capable of seating 100 students. All lecture theatres are equipped with public address systems, computers and multimedia projectors.
Conference Hall/Auditorium: There is a conference hall which has a seating capacity of 200 students. Continuing dental education programmes are regularly conducted here and it is well equipped with multimedia facilities.
Laboratory: All laboratories, both pre-clinical and clinical, are equipped with facilities to seat the large number of students in comfort.
Computer and Internet: The college offers 10 desktop computers to its students for project work and internet access. In addition, the college is on process of computerizing all departments for record-keeping as well as research purposes. Internet access is through ISDN leased line, and allowed at nominal charges for students.
Cafeteria: The college provides a cafeteria which offers fresh snacks, cold drinks and ice-creams.
Hostel Facility
With a well-equipped campus for study, research and practice, the college has adequate residential facilities. The on campus hostel accommodations are in close proximity to the college and hospital. The boys’ hostel has 30 rooms and the girls hostel has 60 rooms accommodating students on a double occupancy basis. The mess is run on a cost sharing basis. Based on the opinion of the boarders, the mess committee will decide upon the menu which consists of both vegetarian and non vegetarian preparations. The hostel fees which includes the caution deposit, mess deposit, mess advance and the room rent will be collected at the time of admission.
